We wanted to go to GW Fins but it was booked up for dinner time. So we decided to go to a new place. =)

I had the sear tuna salad. Vinh had the Blackened Drum with pecans and lump crabmeat. Anna had the oyster spaghetti. It was awesome and we were so full.


Oh, did I mentioned Vinh ask me to marry him? I said yes of course! =)





Oh, after dinner we had to walk off the food. I made Vinh take pictures with me around the Hotel. Thanks Anna for being our photographer. LOL!



He makes me laugh all the time. I'm very happy. I love him so much. I can't wait to be married to him. ❤

DIY project w/ Vinh

I'm so excited! A few days ago Vinh and I set aside some quality time to make our Dinh Hon sign. It's cute and less than $20! =) Ever since I started pinning, I been inspired to do alot of DIY. Here's the first blog with photos how Vinh and I did this.

Materials from Hobby Lobby and Wal-mart.
1 red thick poster board (4.99)
1 smooth foam board 1/2in thick (4.49)
2 rolls of gold ribbon (2.79 each)
1 bottle of gold glitter (2.99)

Other stuff you need:
scissors
elmer's school glue
craft paint brush
hot glue gun
sharpie pens
box cutter (we end up using pairing knives LOL!)

We selected a font we like in Microsoft words and printed it out from our computer. Cut the letters around the edges. Place it on the white soft foam board and use sharpies to trace the letters onto board.

Be careful when using sharp supplies!! Well, you can see Vinh started to cut the letters with the box cutter blade above. But when I decided to help him to make things go faster, I used my dad's very sharp pairing-like knives he uses on his fishing equipment. Vinh wanted it to be perfect and trimmed the sides of the letters very straight. He figured it was easier and cleaner to use the knife so we didn't use the box cutter anymore. It was my dad's idea to use his sharp knives. ~_^

For the two hearts as one: I used two large newspapers and folded it in half and created a heart from that. Arrange the two hearts to desired shape. Then traced it onto the red poster board. Cut the heart shape with box cutter/knife. As Vinh was cutting the heart I started the glue and glitter! My favorite part! Working with one piece at a time, squeeze glue all over top and sides of letter and smooth out glue with paint brush. Then Glitter baby!! Glitter! I let dry and continue glitter again on bald spots. =)

As I let the glitter dry I worked on the trimming. Using the hot glue gun I glue the ribbon around the heart's edges. I crinkle the edges a bit to help the ribbon form into the heart's curves. It also added a rippling effect look to the edges. =)

Arrange the glitter letters onto heart as desired and hot glue gun the letters on! We haven't hung it up yet. Not until our Engagement day. But I figured command mounting strips would do the job because this sign is so lightweight. =)
Pretty simple and saved us alot of money! It was also nice spending time with my boyfriend making our Dinh Hon sign. I don't think there's alot of guys out there that would sit here and do artsy crafty stuff with me. I know I'm a lucky girl. <3

Smoked Dutch

"Do you like cheese?" "Well yes I do. Gouda's my favorite!" -She's the Man Movie.

Lol! It happens to be my favorite too. Smoked Dutch Gouda Cheese. Took me forever to find it! I went everywhere. A few months ago, after coming home from AU, I been searching for this cheese every time I go grocery shopping. From Whole Foods, Martin wine cellar, Walmart, Winn-Dixie, and Rouses. I finally found it at Rouses on Vets. I went to other Rouses before but didn't see it. I finally got lucky this time. =)

Birthday weekend

Honey and I went out to Galatoire's for my birthday dinner. It was a pleasant evening with just us two. I had a Mimosa to start off. We ordered the Souffle Potatoes and Oyster Rockafella for appetizers. The Souffle Potatoes was featured on The best thing I ever ate 'Old School' by John Besh. It was simple and interesting. Something you have to say you've tried before at this restaurant.

He had the Salmon with Crabmeat Yvonne on top while I tried the turtle soup. We were full by then so skipped desserts. After dinner, we went to boomtown to try my birthday free spin. I only got $5 to play free slots and I won like $7. Bleh* But I tried my luck and I won $50 at the Roulette table! Then end the night with some frozen yogurt at Tutti Frutti. =)

The following night Julie came down to our surprise and we hung out at the Tet festival at church. Had a few drinks there and enjoyed the live concert. After the fair we went to Metro and danced the night away!

I drank a little too much but Vinh took good care of me. Here I am all straighten up with my cousins and sister. We didn't leave the club til like 4am. And yes, we all made it to mass in the morning!

Oh, I can't forget my beautiful earrings Vinh got me for my Birthday! =) David Yurman pearl drop earrings. It's so lovely! Espcially with my hair curled. I wore it right away to church Sunday! I love it! I'm starting to have a collection now. Yikes! I'm so Blessed! Thank you so much to everyone that shared my birthday this year! I had an awesome night full of loved ones!
