Coolinary New Orleans

Other than Hurricane Isaac, August was a cool month. With www.Coolinaryneworleans.com!
GW Fins, Iris, and Cafe Adelaide.
I been wanting to make plans to go hang out with Thu but we been so busy. But after some sad news about her life, I immediately took her out for a much needed girl night out. It was perfect because GW offered their Coolinary menu on weekdays only anyways.
Our appetizers with thai calamari and porkbelly/watermelon tasting. The fancy drink is for Thu.

Thu had the seafood bouillabaisse and I had the Batwing. We ate the pecan pie with Ice cream before we remembered to take a photo. Lol! And we were so full to finish the cheesecake. Awesome dinner!

The following week, when Vinh and I had off from work. So,we went to Iris. It was nice cause we dressed up and had a nice evening out as a couple alone. =)

For beginners: He had the duck salad and I had the BLT-like salad. Our entrees: He had the Drum fish and I had the Ranch Pork. And desserts: He had the watermelon sorbet and I had the panna cotta. We also forgot the photos when desserts came out. Haha

Lastly, we went out for Anna's belated birthday at Cafe Adelaide. It's right next to swizzle stick bar in the Lowe's hotel!
Appetizers: I had the shrimp corndogs, and TV had the sweet corn soup velouté, and Vinh and Anna had the veal rillettes.

For our entrees: I had the Duck, Anna went with scallops, ThaoVi had the Fig injected Veal, and Vinh with his grilled Drum.

For desserts: I had cookies and Ice Cream. Anna had her cake, ThaoVi with her bread Pudding and Vinh finished the night with coffee.

I only ate the ice cream cause i was too full to try the cookies too. We boxed it to go to savor later But, we had such an awesome time, we forgot the cookies. Lol!
It was great that Nola had this awesome event going this month. It gave me a chance to try new restaurants. Cafe Adelaide will be a frequency eatery for me. Thanks Coolinaryneworleans!

Trying on Wedding Dresses

Random day off. So I called David's bridal to look and try on a few dresses just for fun. I went with Vinh. I showed the consultant a few dress I liked from the catalog and we started there. This is the first one I tried on.... And Vinh liked it right away! Dress by Oleg Cassini, very exquisite designer. Made for curvy girls.

Oleg Cassini made very nice A-Line dresses! But it was a little out of my price range. Of course, if it was the one, I wouldn't mind the price. But it had to be "The" dress! Pretty close, but this wasn't it. So, moving on.

Vera Wang is a divine designer. Love the way it holds my waist and make me feel like a princess. Really hugs me in the right places on top. But the bottom is too extravagant for me. I only considered it because the price... It is a steal! It was an optional dress.

Again, another Oleg Cassini. I like this because of the sweetheart. He's a very truly talented designer. Very comfy dress and hugs my chest and waist well while hiding my bottom half. Hehe

It's okay... And the rest of the day was a whomp... I tried a few more dresses but wasn't worth taking pictures.

Love the ruching done on this dress. But it did feel like it was the one. Sigh, I tried on a few more and was tired. None really called out to me. At this point I was settling for the Vera Wang dress cause of the sale price. But was it really worth it? Either that or the first Oleg dress. Because Vinh liked it and The dress was a good 7-8. But I felt like there's gotte be something more. Awaiting my 10. =P

Then few days later I came back with my sister this time. Retried the first Oleg dress and the Vera one just to be sure. I loved how the Vera hugs my waist. But I tried a few different ones this time. Jaime told me I should try a mermaid dress. I was skeptical but need to keep an open mind... So here we go!

Love the blue! It'll match my theme right away. But it's too funny to do that with your wedding gown. I think. But I gave it a try.

I gave this a try too... A-Line light and flowy dress. It was okay..

Finally, little did I know, as soon as I walked out and turned to look at the mirror.... This was it! Thank you for my consultant for helping me try a figure hugging dress. I loved it so much I didn't want to take it off!

Veil time! This is a simple w/beading one.
This is a log cathedral veil... Illusion of having a bigger dress.
Trying to see if I can sit in it! =)
Since I didn't go with the Vera Wang dress... I got this Vera Veil! =) It was simple and the perfect length! Not too long or too short. And I need to only wear one veil instead if stacking on 2+ veils for volume. Vera made this with layers already. =) smart women.
Thank you Deanna for helping me find my dream Wedding Dress! The $50 off Sale made it much more fulfilling! It was just perfect everything. When you find the one, everything just falls into place!

On my day off...

... I went to Lakeside mall!

I been trying to go to the mall more often to get my ring cleaned. The people there are so nice! They remember me and Vinh so well. They talk to us on such a personal level every time we pass by. Today, she asked if I wanted to look at the band that goes with my ring because it just came in. It was so lovely when I tried it on! And we kept on talking and talking and she cleaned my ring for me! I love how it looks when it's so sparkly and clean! Well, I end up getting a jewelry cleaner and she taught me how to use it too! So now, I can always have my ring clean as much as I want... without having to come to the mall so often. I can't wait to use it! And right next to Lee Michaels is Popcorn Bistro.

This place has all kinds of flavored popcorn. My favorite is White Chocolate Pretzels. They let us try samples too! Very fun day already! Oh, then we had a quick bite at Cafe Du Monde for their Beignets and frozen Cafe Au Lait. I also stopped by Victoria Secret to claim the free undie we had a coupon for! Love their free undies, Haha! On the way out I was testing out some fragrances at Macy's and fell in love with the Chanel Chance newest perfume Eau Tendre. It is wonderful and matches my moment right now. It's a happy scent. It makes me feel so nice when I put it on. A newly engaged/Bride to be kinda feeling. =) idk how to explain it but it's feels just right. After the mall I went to Barnes and Nobles and look at some wedding planners.

I compared it all and liked the purple one best, but the cover was messed up and I wasn't sure if some of the pages were lost. So I drove all the way to the Westbank's B&N and got it! =) it was brand spanking new with the cardboard inside. We were planning to go watch a Movie and just wanted to kill time so we went to cherryberry for some Taro frozen yogurt. But they didn't have that flavor today. But right next to it was a cupcake boutique called Gigi's cupcakes.

Cupcakes looks awesome with their three-tier icing swirl!

But yes it is alot of icing. Afterwards we went back to Metairie to meet up with my other sister and ate Izzo's illegal burrito and Nachos.

It was a quick bite also. Then we went to watch "Think like a Man." =P what beautiful day off to spend with my sisters. Now I'm home playing with my wedding planner book! So excited!!!
