On my day off...

... I went to Lakeside mall!

I been trying to go to the mall more often to get my ring cleaned. The people there are so nice! They remember me and Vinh so well. They talk to us on such a personal level every time we pass by. Today, she asked if I wanted to look at the band that goes with my ring because it just came in. It was so lovely when I tried it on! And we kept on talking and talking and she cleaned my ring for me! I love how it looks when it's so sparkly and clean! Well, I end up getting a jewelry cleaner and she taught me how to use it too! So now, I can always have my ring clean as much as I want... without having to come to the mall so often. I can't wait to use it! And right next to Lee Michaels is Popcorn Bistro.

This place has all kinds of flavored popcorn. My favorite is White Chocolate Pretzels. They let us try samples too! Very fun day already! Oh, then we had a quick bite at Cafe Du Monde for their Beignets and frozen Cafe Au Lait. I also stopped by Victoria Secret to claim the free undie we had a coupon for! Love their free undies, Haha! On the way out I was testing out some fragrances at Macy's and fell in love with the Chanel Chance newest perfume Eau Tendre. It is wonderful and matches my moment right now. It's a happy scent. It makes me feel so nice when I put it on. A newly engaged/Bride to be kinda feeling. =) idk how to explain it but it's feels just right. After the mall I went to Barnes and Nobles and look at some wedding planners.

I compared it all and liked the purple one best, but the cover was messed up and I wasn't sure if some of the pages were lost. So I drove all the way to the Westbank's B&N and got it! =) it was brand spanking new with the cardboard inside. We were planning to go watch a Movie and just wanted to kill time so we went to cherryberry for some Taro frozen yogurt. But they didn't have that flavor today. But right next to it was a cupcake boutique called Gigi's cupcakes.

Cupcakes looks awesome with their three-tier icing swirl!

But yes it is alot of icing. Afterwards we went back to Metairie to meet up with my other sister and ate Izzo's illegal burrito and Nachos.

It was a quick bite also. Then we went to watch "Think like a Man." =P what beautiful day off to spend with my sisters. Now I'm home playing with my wedding planner book! So excited!!!

15 things you should give up

This is such a coincidence that a FB friend shared this link about my latest post. Some of the things are spot on of what I learned in life. But there a few things on this list I can take and improve myself. Yes, I believe that I'm quite a happy person. However, for all humans, there is always room for improvement. So I take this self-improving, spiritual reading, and food for thought material and make myself a better person.
15 things you should give up
So here I fill some Quotations relating to lesson learned in life.

If someone comes into your life and has a positive impact on you, but for some reason they can’t stay, be thankful that your paths crossed and that they somehow made you happy, even if it was just for a short while. Life is change. People really do come and go. Some come back, some don’t, and that’s okay. And just because one person leaves, doesn’t mean you should forget about everyone else who’s still standing by your side. Continue to appreciate what you have, and smile about the memories. — with Gyamjo Moktan Lama
Each of us has our own unique flaws. It's the cracks and flaws that make our lives interesting and rewarding. We should accept people as they are and then look for the good in them. Nobody is perfect and that's what so priceless about it. There is a lot of good people out there. There is a lot of good in us! Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. Remember to appreciate all the different people in your life! — with Chime Azuwike
"Take chances, take lots of them. Because honestly, no matter where you end up and with whom, it always unfolds the way it should be. Your life decisions make you who you are. You learn and grow with each choice you make and that's a good thing. Everything is worth it in the end even if you don't understand it now. Trust the journey. Say how you feel, always. Be you and be okay with it."
“Even the most daring and accomplished people have undergone tremendous difficulty. In fact, the more successful they became, the more they attributed their success to the lessons learned during their most difficult times. Adversity is our teacher. When we view adversity as a guide towards greater inner growth, we will then learn to accept the wisdom our soul came into this life to learn.” ~Barbara Rose~

Life and its lessons

Where do I start to write what I learn? You know how people mention how your life will turn out depends on the decisions you make today? It's true. I decided how to deal with someone who hurted me. I don't want to hate them for it. Because that takes too much negative energy. And it'll all be wasted energy. I learned that long ago. It's much easier to let things go than try to change/fix something you can't control. But this person was close to me and I can't let it go lightly because I still value what we had. So I thought, I can still at least respect this person as I would a stranger. I forgive this person but it doesn't mean I want to be friends with them again. I want to respect myself and stay away from people like that. I can't let myself be treated that way and let them think it was okay. Because it was not. I know my intentions were well in our friendship. But now knowing their friendship was underhandedly selfish, I felt used and in the end abused. Its depressing really, but that's ok. We live and we learn. I hope this person will learn also and be a better person with all their friendships and relationships in the future. I still hope the best for them because I know the good they have instilled in them. I feel my part in their lives are over and we should all move along but still cherish the good times we had. Its a lesson learned. No, it can not be salvaged because 1. It will never be the same again. 2. The more you try the worse it gets. So it's best to let go and learn from it. As I grow older, I want to deal with these life blunders in a much simpler way and also in a well mannered way. View the situation as a whole big picture and not just at the moment. Although it did ended abruptly, I can not change that. But what I can do is decided how I want to deal with this. So here I am. I felt my friendship with her did not enlighten me in life during the friendship. Only the breakup was where I learned the most. I learn that people are different and you must accept that everyone is different. I didn't know what arrogant meant. To me, when we were arguing I confused it with ignorance. I had to look up arrogance and read into it. Omg, it takes one to know one I guess. The hypocrisy in it all, she's the arrogant one. I guess that's why it's in her vocabulary. As for me, I have a case of ignorance. But I view my ignorance as a blessing because I'm easily a happy person. I was told this by a nun with much respected wisdom that I have a simple mind. I lived with her for two years and she said it's a blessing because she knew I was always happy. A few years later I was told by a different person the same exact thing. I'm a happy person because my head is wired in a way to block certain things. And honestly I recently realized this about myself even when it was told to me many times. I don't know how I do it either, it comes naturally. I think it is also the reason why I can do what I need to do as a respiratory therapist. So I thank God and view it as a blessing. I deal with life as it comes to me. And because of this friendship, I know how to deal with arrogant people. Treat them with respect and always be kind. Yeah and hope that it will rub off on them. =)

Borgne

We wanted to go to GW Fins but it was booked up for dinner time. So we decided to go to a new place. =)

I had the sear tuna salad. Vinh had the Blackened Drum with pecans and lump crabmeat. Anna had the oyster spaghetti. It was awesome and we were so full.

Oh, did I mentioned Vinh ask me to marry him? I said yes of course! =)

Oh, after dinner we had to walk off the food. I made Vinh take pictures with me around the Hotel. Thanks Anna for being our photographer. LOL!

He makes me laugh all the time. I'm very happy. I love him so much. I can't wait to be married to him. ❤
