FQF 2011

It's that time of the year again! French Quarter Fest 2011
Some pictures of honey! He's so cute!

Well, I must write about dinner with the parents. Everything went well... Whenever Vinh and I are ready to tie the knot, it'll be easier since the parents already met. We got the traditional talk out of the way. It's just so nice of Vinh's parents to want everything to be done properly for me. I mean, out of respect they had to ask my parents if we wanted to do a traditional meet and greet. Like a meeting of the parents to acknowledge that Vinh and I are dating with marriage in mind. Like a courtship. And if and when we decided to get married, it'll be easier and not surprising to the family. My parents said that it wasn't necessary. But the thought of Vinh parents wanting to make sure was nice. Now my parents really knows how much his parents like me. It was also a chance for the parents to get to know each other better. They talk about this and that. Where they're from back in Vietnam. What they do for work now. What they enjoy doing for fun like fishing or going to Missouri. What they like to eat and how their health is and what they do to keep up with their health. About selling the house and winning a car. About Japan earthquakes and new priest and alot of other random things. My parents can see how I interact with them and likewise. Vinh jokes alot with my dad and they was many laughter that night.

We had an awesome meal too! It was at Hoa Hong 9 and we ate the beef, shrimp, squid grilled fresh with the portable grill on our table. So interactive! It was the perfect ice breaker activity I think. Well, it just made things more fun and easy going. And we all ordered a few more dishes to eat with rice like a Vietnamese traditional family. I was so happy and felt really blessed. At the end of the night I told my parents I'm going out with Vinh to a friend's house. My dad's so cool. He said that it's cool and that he'd take mom and Anna home and I can go with Vinh. Vinh took care of the bill and ordered a mango smoothie Togo for Anna. My dad's farewell was cute. He said: we're gonna go now and let the young kids go on their fun in Vietnamese.

I went home with Vinh and his parents. Once they got into the house, Vinh and I went to playa's house to chill. The guys played cards and drink while the girls sing karaoke and drink. And Vinh took me home afterwards like around 1:30ish. He made it back the next morning to go to mass with me. After mass, we ate my mom's Pho and then headed to FQF! Great weekend! Oh, I didn't make it to Minh Tuyet at CL. I did go eat sushi with Vinh though! And afterwards we both just stayed in for the rest of the night. It was hard for me to ditch Vinh for Minh Tuyet. I had a great time with Vinh that night anyways! It was a fantastic weekend!

TAZO Tea

I love Starbucks iced green tea! I been earning my stars from ordering tea instead of Caramel Frappe. Did I mention, I'm a gold member?! I'm waiting for my 4th free drink coupon. =) hehe! I started last year around October and I reached gold member when I got 30 stars around my birthday. You receive a Gold card with your name on it and a free drink when you reach Gold. As a member, you get a free drink on your birthday too and every 15 star after reaching gold level gets you a free drink. Each star is earned by making a purchase on your gift card. I know, that's alot of coffee.

But the pass three months I been drinking more tea. It's cheaper and less calories and good for your body/mind. On my way to work I order their largest size, the Trenta iced green tea and when I'm finished I make my own iced tea with the same cup. I add two sugars and it'll last me the rest of the night. I finished a whole box of the Zen green tea already. Now I'm on a new flavor: Orange Blossom. It's much sweeter and I'm more familiar with the taste because my dad drinks jasmine tea.

I microwave my water in the foam cup and then add a tea bag. I set up a cup of ice and when the tea is ready I add it to the cup of ice. I repeat it again twice because it takes two 10oz and two tea bag to fill that Trenta cup. That's what the directions called for. =) Since I'm watching my weight, I drink tea instead of eating so I hope it'll help me lose weight. I believe it kinda does. Here's my finished product.

It's Friday! No meat day! I haven't eaten anything yet. After this shift is over, I'm going to bed and wake up and go eat sushi! I love Fridays during Lent. I use that excuse to go eat sushi. Oh!! and then I can go see Minh Tuyet at Chalkline sing! Sounds like a plan right?! Let's hope I actually do it. Hurry up 7am!

VS secret rewards

I got all these practically free!!

I had 2 secret reward card and went to claim it today. I was thinking to pick up some underwear and get at least $10 off and save. Little did I know when I went to ring it up the girl said my secret reward took the whole balance. And she told me I had more on it. My face lit up! Yay! Free underwear! It was actually $50 gift reward!! I told her I have another reward card too. But she said it can't be combined. So I went to get 5 more undies and used the rest of my reward and paid only $5.45 for them. I wanted to find out what I had on my other card so I took a mini heavenly perfume and told her to ring it up and I'm going to keep it in my purse. It was only $10 on it. But I was still happy!! I only paid 0.88 (tax) for it. Woohoo!! Free undies and mini perfume I also went to Puccino's and used my 2 for Tuesday coupon and got tea with lemonade slush. 1 for me and 1 for ThaoVi. I had a great day!!

Springy April

I been wearing my new bag from Aldo and been loving it! Many compliments from everyone about it. I'm blogging from the hospital right now. There's alot if things I want to write before it builds up and I can't keep up. Loving this new blog app!

I went to Saks but didn't get the Chanel purse. My boyfriend Vinh and bestfriend Tien went with me. They were my advisors that day. I wanted the bowling bag but my boyfriend told me that if I wanted to get a Chanel bag, I should pick a classic bag first. Since I'm paying so much for it. And girlfriend thinks it costs way too much and she's not a big fan of Chanel. Anyways, I decided to pass on it for now and wait. But on a brighter note, he bought me Mac makeup! Sweet bf isn't he? Maybe he was proud I didn't blow 4k on a purse. Anywho, I never own anything from Mac before and to have my boyfriend treating me to it, is like icing on a cake. It was so nice of him. He bought me a lipstick and lipgloss and black fluid eyeliner I left at home.

Next: Tien booked our flights for Austrailia!! We're going down under in August!!! I'm so excited! I'm doing paperwork for my passport this week. I just touched up my hair color to a darker red that blends in with my natural hair color and got my eyebrows threaded before taking my passport picture.

And then: Vinh parents called my parents at the house about a week ago to invite then to have dinner. I know, the parents are meeting. >.< I'm so nervous. But hold your horses, No Engagement yet!!! It's just for them to get to know each other better. The dinner is set for April 9th. =)
