FQF 2011

It's that time of the year again! French Quarter Fest 2011
Some pictures of honey! He's so cute!

Well, I must write about dinner with the parents. Everything went well... Whenever Vinh and I are ready to tie the knot, it'll be easier since the parents already met. We got the traditional talk out of the way. It's just so nice of Vinh's parents to want everything to be done properly for me. I mean, out of respect they had to ask my parents if we wanted to do a traditional meet and greet. Like a meeting of the parents to acknowledge that Vinh and I are dating with marriage in mind. Like a courtship. And if and when we decided to get married, it'll be easier and not surprising to the family. My parents said that it wasn't necessary. But the thought of Vinh parents wanting to make sure was nice. Now my parents really knows how much his parents like me. It was also a chance for the parents to get to know each other better. They talk about this and that. Where they're from back in Vietnam. What they do for work now. What they enjoy doing for fun like fishing or going to Missouri. What they like to eat and how their health is and what they do to keep up with their health. About selling the house and winning a car. About Japan earthquakes and new priest and alot of other random things. My parents can see how I interact with them and likewise. Vinh jokes alot with my dad and they was many laughter that night.

We had an awesome meal too! It was at Hoa Hong 9 and we ate the beef, shrimp, squid grilled fresh with the portable grill on our table. So interactive! It was the perfect ice breaker activity I think. Well, it just made things more fun and easy going. And we all ordered a few more dishes to eat with rice like a Vietnamese traditional family. I was so happy and felt really blessed. At the end of the night I told my parents I'm going out with Vinh to a friend's house. My dad's so cool. He said that it's cool and that he'd take mom and Anna home and I can go with Vinh. Vinh took care of the bill and ordered a mango smoothie Togo for Anna. My dad's farewell was cute. He said: we're gonna go now and let the young kids go on their fun in Vietnamese.

I went home with Vinh and his parents. Once they got into the house, Vinh and I went to playa's house to chill. The guys played cards and drink while the girls sing karaoke and drink. And Vinh took me home afterwards like around 1:30ish. He made it back the next morning to go to mass with me. After mass, we ate my mom's Pho and then headed to FQF! Great weekend! Oh, I didn't make it to Minh Tuyet at CL. I did go eat sushi with Vinh though! And afterwards we both just stayed in for the rest of the night. It was hard for me to ditch Vinh for Minh Tuyet. I had a great time with Vinh that night anyways! It was a fantastic weekend!
